Network of Austrian tourism destinations
Feasibility study for a decision-maker dashboard
What does a simple dashboard look like that genuinely helps leaders across several destinations? We clarified which data it needs and how it could be presented.
Starting point
Several destinations wanted to look at their data together. Dashboards often fail because they show too much, answer the wrong questions or rely on data that is not reliably available.
Before investing, it therefore had to be clear what a dashboard must do for decision-makers and which data is available for it.
What we did
- Agreed together which questions the dashboard should answer, from the perspective of the people who decide with it.
- Clarified which data should be visualised, where it comes from and how reliably it is available.
- Outlined the structure and presentation of a simple decision-maker dashboard: few KPIs, easy to read.
Outcome
The network has a clear basis for deciding on a shared dashboard: which KPIs, which data sources and which presentation.
This makes it possible to estimate the effort and benefit of an implementation realistically before committing budget.
